SAN DIEGO ROSE SOCIETY 2011 LITTLE ROSE SHOW RULES
Chairman: Sue Streeper (619 448 0321, streeper@cox.net) There will be five “six-pack” shows at the SDRS meetings in April, May, June, September, and October. RULES OF ENTRY FOR ALL SIX-PACK SHOWS: 1. All roses must be properly named and entered in the appropriate section. 2. Containers for exhibits will be supplied by the San Diego Rose Society. 3. Each exhibitor is limited to six entries. You may concentrate your entries in one section or distribute them over all the sections you are eligible to enter. 4. Entry tags will be supplied and only the top sections need to be filled out. 5. Sections 5 and 6 are restricted to novices (anyone who has never won a trophy in any rose competition). However, novices are not restricted to the novice sections and may enter any sections. 6. Exhibitors are asked to remove all exhibits at the end of the meeting. SCORING: Scoring will be in accordance with ARS guidelines and points given to the best roses as follows: First place—5 points, Second place—3 points, Third place—1 point. The first place winners of each section will be judged against each other to determine the Rose of the Night, and that entry will be awarded an additional 3 points and will be displayed at the front of the meeting room. At the end of the year, trophies will be awarded at the holiday banquet to the high-scoring novice exhibitor and to the overall high-scoring exhibitor. These are perpetual trophies with the winner’s name engraved for that year, and returned at the end of the year. HOME ARRANGEMENT COMPETITION—Runion Arrangement Trophy Rose arrangements will be entered in conjunction with the Little Rose Show. Roses of any type should dominate in all arrangements. Entry tags must be completed with correct rose names. No more than two arrangements per household per show are permitted and the roses must be home grown by the exhibitor. The use of dried or artificial material is permitted. There are no restrictions on height or width. SCORING: First place—5 points, Second place—3 points, Third place—1 point. The Runion Trophy will be awarded at the holiday banquet to the highest-scoring arranger.
